Message from CEO Mr. Yukikazu Sakurazawa who started macrobiotics recommended Yutaka Yamada, the founder of our company, to start making sesame oils. His sesame oils had incredible aroma. We use black sesames to make sesame oil that has aroma like his. I still remember the aroma of sesame oils that my grandfather, the founder of our company, made, and I smell the same aroma in our black sesame oil. Only difference is that his sesame oil used to have stronger smell of roasted sesame than our current black sesame oil does. He roasted sesames longer than we currently do because roasting sesames until right before it burns makes more aroma. At the same time, roasting sesames longer makes sesame oil bitter.
These days, people don’t like bitter sesame oil because they often pour raw sesame oil on foods like vegetable directly. We did a lot of trial and error in attempt to make sesame oil that’s not bitter but still has incredible aroma. Then we found that using black sesames that are produced in a particular producing district can make less bitter sesame oil even if it’s roasted for a long time. This is how we came up with our current black sesame oil that has incredible aroma that my grandfather’s sesame oil had at that time. So this black sesame oil is the very sesame oil that we’ve been producing ever since our company was established.
This sesame oils comes with enjoyable incredibly rich flavor and aroma. It can also add more flavor to other aromatic spices and strong-flavored foods while keeping the sesame’s incredibly rich flavor and aroma.
